Hello world!

We just launched lamin.ai as a place for sharing prototypes with our beta customers and collaborators. Over time, we’ll add public releases and use this blog to explain our work.

Why Lamin? It’s a metaphor for an interfacing layer between biology and computing. Lamin proteins make up the essential filament layer that provides the cell nucleus with structural and functional support.

Laminopathic nuclei

Fibroblasts with a stained lamin layer around the nucleus. Microscopy images of samples from a control (a, b) and a subject with Progreria (c, d) where nuclear envelopes are shaped irregularly. The image is from Paradisi et al. (2005), CC BY 2.0 via Wiki Commons.
